A spokesperson for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has said that the organisation will be creating a shortlist of potential casino operators for the Georgian Triangle in Simcoe County.

The OLG has said it is creating a shortlist of potential casino operators for the Georgian Triangle in Simcoe County.
The spokesman, Tony Bitonti, has said that the list will include three to five potential operators but he didn’t say how many have submitted applications to be included. Nor did he comment on how long it will take to compile the list.
However, once the list is complete the operators will be able to submit a proposal for a casino in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach.
Back in 2012 the Wasaga Beach Council voted 6 – 1 in favour of hosting a gaming centre and came up with a list of four possible sites. Collingwood Council on the other hand rejected the idea of a stand-alone gaming centre in November 2012, but in March 2013 requested that staff look into a potential casino resort.
