It is the largest unclaimed lottery jackpot in Canadian history and time is running out for the winner of the $50 million lottery jackpot to collect their prize.
The Lotto Max ticket was bought on November 30th 2012 at a store in Cambridge and according to Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. the owner of the ticket has one year to collect the prize. This means that they have just twenty days left in which to do so.There was another $50 million jackpot up for grabs last week and two winning tickets were sold. One was purchased in British Columbia and the other in the Prairie Provinces. There have already been claims for three of the 20 MaxMillions prizes of a million dollars each which were up for grabs.
Many Cambridge residents are still expressing shock that last year’s jackpot hasn’t been claimed. One resident Rob Brace, who plays Lotto Max every week, said, “Anyone who’s got it would be crazy not to look for it and cash it in.”
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. does know exactly when and where the ticket was bought but the information is kept confidential to help verify claims on the ticket.
