Lotto Max Prize Pool Grows to $100 Million

Every week thousands of Canadians buy tickets for the Lotto Max and last week six lucky players were made millionaires. However, no one won the top prize, the $50 million jackpot. As a result the draw on December 20th will be for a $50 million jackpot and an additional fifty $1 million prizes.

Lotto Max Prize Pool Grows to $100 Million

This week’s Lotto Max gives players the chance to win a $50 million jackpot or one of fifty $1 million prizes.

The lottery always sets a cap of $50 million for the main jackpot; any extra money accumulated from ticket purchases is divided into separate prizes. These extra prizes means a larger number of people have the opportunity to become millionaires.

Last week saw winning tickets confirmed in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, the remaining tickets are known to be somewhere in the Prairies and the Maritimes.

Tickets for the Lotto Max can be bought until 9pm EST on the day of the draw.

Last weekend’s draw was for the $50 million jackpot and 30 $1 million prizes. However, so many people entered that the prize pool was increased by $20 million by the end of the week. Because of that this week’s draw will have 50 $1 million prizes up for grabs.
