A couple in Vaughan, Ontario, have won a $21.2 million lottery jackpot and the prize has significantly brightened up their year.
Lee and Beverley Cassidy won the jackpot in the December 12 Lotto 649 draw.
Lee, who until recently worked as an electrical supervisor, said that he and his wife have been suffering from health problems over the past year and the money came at a perfect time.
The couple have been married for 13 years and have seven grandchildren between them.
According to Lee they aren’t planning on changing their lifestyle, but he said his wife is looking forward to buy some new bed linens and towels.
They are also thinking of going on an Alaskan cruise; Lee said that they “don’t like the heat. We’re from Kirkland Lake so we enjoy the cold.”
Beverley said that when the store gave her the printout of her winnings she was surprised at the number and “started jumping up and down and waving out the window to my husband who was waiting in the car. The whole store was buzzing.”
Lee said that he went out for some fresh air but soon managed to clear his head.
