At last gamblers in Ontario are going to be able to legally play online by the end of the year. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has picked a vendor to provide the gambling services, and Rod Phillips the President and CEO of the OLG said that they “will offer the only safe, lawful and regulated internet gaming option in Ontario.”

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has picked SPIELO G2 to provide online gambling services.
After a drawn out selection process it was decided that SPIELO G2 will provide the online gambling games including slots, video poker and table games. The website, PlayOLG.ca, will also allow gamblers to purchase lottery tickets. There are plans to launch bingo and poker at a later date.
Philips went on to say, “We’re pleased to have an experienced company on board to help OLG provide an interactive gaming experience that will be a secure option, regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.”
It is thought that online gambling will increase the net profit to the province by $375 million over the first five years. It is thought that Ontario gamblers already spent $400 million on offshore gambling websites which the government does not profit from. The hope is that gamers will now switch to playing on the regulated site.
