Lopez Arrested For Intoxication after Falling Asleep On Bar Floor
The acclaimed Mexican-American comedian George Lopez was arrested for public intoxication after passing out on the floor of the Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino in Ontario. The incident took place shortly after he had performing a show at the casino.
The sleepy sitcom star was discovered on the floor by casino security officers, who alerted local police before midnight last Thursday. He took it all in stride though, releasing a statement to PEOPLE magazine poking fun at himself as well as including Justin Bieber and Toronto’s mayor Rob Ford in making light of the incident.
The comedian hit the ground running, after a few hours of shut-eye, jumping right back into his scheduled casino shows, Lopez Tonight hosting duties and making preparations for the premier of his show Saint George, premiering in March, 2014.
No charges are expected to be filed against the comedian. He remains in good standing with the casino and managed to finish his scheduled shows without any problems.
Lopez underwent a kidney transplant in 2005 after suffering an ailment affecting the organs. He received a healthy kidney from his wife, Ann.
