The next Lotto Max jackpot, for the May 2 draw, is expected to reach its maximum size of $50 million for the first time since March.The Lotto Max jackpot never grows beyond $50 million, after that point any extra money made through ticket sales is placed into separate MaxMillions side prizes. The side prizes are each worth $1 million and the lottery has said it expects there to be two MaxMillions side prizes available alongside the $50 million jackpot this week.
Last week’s draw only saw two winners. A player in Toronto won the secondary prize worth $380,000 and another player near Trenton won $100,000 playing ENCORE. Prior to that, a man from Moose Jaw won $500,000 from his Lotto Max ticket.
Players across Canada can enter the draw for the $50 million jackpot and tickets can be bought until 9pm EST on 2 May, just before the draw takes place. Tickets cost $5 each and playing the ENCORE line costs an additional $1.
